EXTRAORDINARY ICONOGRAPHY
Shapes that leave an impression
Internationally acclaimed designer Veit Streitenberger from Frankfurt has found an unusual way to pick up on Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur’s traditional iconographic elements, applying them in a contemporary way.

His works perfectly bridge tradition and modernity. In the Impressions Artists’ Series, traditional porcelain shapes encounter modern geometric bodies, creating their own impressions and expressions. One result was a cubist vase bearing the impression of the traditional trumpet vase – the Impressions Vase – and a conical bowl that integrates elements of the traditional Flower-Relief Plate from the 18th century. Another example of this philosophy can be seen in the Fusion Vase – in this piece, Veit Streitenberger used traditional vase shapes from the Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur collection to produce an expressive modern creation.
The charming formal contrast between tradition and modernity is heightened by the contrasting surface treatments. The traditional shapes remain unprocessed, while the modern geometric blocks are covered in an elegant white glaze.
