The series Meri (the sea) consists of cast porcelain bowls in simple, clear shapes with handmade cobalt glaze paintings. This forms a haptic and optical contrast to the matt white surface and invites you to touch it.
The product series combines casting technique with individual painting. The subtle shades of blue are inspired by foggy seascapes, where the sky is blurred in the sea and covers the horizon.
Inkeri Aaltio
Inkeri Aaltio (1989) comes from Finland, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Aalto University in Helsinki. Since 2015 she has been studying at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main in the Design Department. She will complete her diploma in spring 2020 with a thesis on variations of porcelain casting.
