History of the Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur 1746

The Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur 1746 was founded in 1746 as the Electoral-Mainz porcelain manufactory, making it the second oldest porcelain manufactory in Germany.

The Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur is founded with a privilege granted by the Elector of Mainz, Johann Carl von Ostein.

The extraordinary honor goes hand in hand with the monopoly position in Kurmainz and the privilege to use the Mainz wheel as a trademark for Höchster Porzellan.

The Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur 1746, with its headquarters in a listed industrial building on the Höchst Stadtpark, still produces selected services, gifts and accessories by hand, as it did more than 270 years ago.

As the only porcelain manufactory in Hesse, it is a gem of cultural and historical significance.
